How ALX Reignited My Belief in Tech and Kept My Dreams Alive.
As I embarked on my tech journey, doubt began to cast its shadow 😟. Was this truly the path for me? It seemed daunting 🧐, and I questioned my own abilities. Had I made a mistake? Two years into programming, uncertainty lingered 🤷.
However, just when the clouds of uncertainty threatened to engulf me, a ray of hope pierced through the darkness. A dear friend shared a link with me, leading to the ALX_SE program. I clicked the link, carefully reviewed the requirements, and decided to take a leap of faith.
My initial application was met with rejection, and I found myself in tears 😭. Turning to the heavens 🙏, I poured my heart out, expressing my unwavering desire to pursue a tech career, a lifelong dream. Miraculously, my prayers were answered ✨. I summoned the courage to draft an email to ALX_SE, baring my soul and aspirations.
In response, ALX_SE, with hearts full of kindness ❤️, replied to my email after a few days. They acknowledged my fervor and determination to thrive in the tech industry. With utmost generosity and understanding, they extended a gracious invitation to join their program. 🚀
As I entered the program, I couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Can I truly do this?’ The curriculum was challenging, and each day brought new projects and the motto of #DoHardThings. During the onboarding phase, ALX_SE instilled in us the belief in ourselves. For 14 days straight, they reminded us why we were the best globally and why self-belief was our greatest asset.
ALX_SE introduced us to the power of ‘Not yet.’ This phrase transformed my outlook and approach to problem-solving. No longer did I dwell on failure;
instead, I embraced the idea of ‘not yet,’ signifying that success would come with persistent effort. Alx’s mantra, ‘Do hard things,’ became my guiding light, propelling me to tackle real-world challenges without fear of initial failures.
What touched me deeply was how ALX shared their collective journey of triumphs and tribulations. They assured us that setbacks were part of the learning process. ALX_SE didn’t just impart technical knowledge; they nurtured the mindset needed to navigate the ever-evolving tech landscape.
With each interaction, my confidence soared, and my love for coding reignited 🔥. Today, I share my knowledge and passion with peers, motivating them to embrace coding.
