David, Thanks for an excellent response. I don’t think it was long-winded at all! As usual, I find myself in general agreement with your points. I think I understand your point about pushing education funding to the local level and the challenges that creates. In your response you mention several times “federal policies” that the federal government doesn’t fund “the additional costs created by their policies.” I’m assuming the bulk of the policies to which you’re referring are immigration policies. Whether that is a correct assumption or not, are there other policies you have in mind? Could you give me a sense of some of those unfunded costs and consequences driven by those policies.
