Just using Gutbloom’s words, “There is no press that covers Silicon Valley for real.”

By “for real” I guess I’m referring to the idea that we very purposeful try to feel like “your internet friend” as opposed to “a media company” or “the press.”

And like all friends, “your internet friend” is transparent. The Ringer — to use Gutbloom’s example — might not be.

Definitely not suggesting we’re doing something new or better, though.
