50 Years of Star Trek: Predictions and Inspiration for Innovative Entrepreneurs

Not only has scifi been a predictor of our toys, it's also been a predictor of our lives and lifestyles, lately in the most dystopian of directions. We now value the intelligence of machines more than the wisdom of our collective consciousness. We all know there is a better way for all. We just choose to ignore it. We’ve put our faith in technology and science in hopes that the powerful gatekeepers of the best of it allow it to trickle down for the good of all. I have my doubts. No, the only ones getting aboard anything like the Enterprise any time soon will be the super predators among us; watching the Earth burn in the rear view screen as they leave the rest of us with no intention of coming back to help. We are putting them closer and closer to their incendiary goals with each new international trade deal devoid of international labor agreements that level the playing field for all and keep the 1% in check; keep them concerned with the place we all call home, Mother Earth. They have no allegiance to a country or any ground they walk on. The only flag they wave is the all mighty dollar. To keep us controlled they demand blind nationalism in the spirit of “competition.” It keeps us at eachothers throats as opposed to rising up against them. More are beginning to see who the real welfare queens are now though, the true parasites of our time. Workers of the world unite! Tax the rich! No one leaves this planet until we all can together, united. THAT’S what Star Trek was meant to be, meant to foretell. Not the Elysium model we are faring toward now at warp speed.
