Like any good story, ours didn’t end neatly with Simon’s transition. I still had so many feelings. He was busy getting to present to the world the man he always knew he was. And we were raising a kid.

I didn’t write for a long time. My life was too uncertain to write about. And I was in pain — which I was trying desperately to ignore. But, ignoring pain ultimately brought it crashing down on my head (of course).
