This is a great ride for parents and kids to do together

In Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is the Astro Orbiter ride. You can easily see this ride flying high above Tomorrowland. This ride often has a long wait, even on slow days, so if you see the line isn’t long, jump on it. There is no fast pass for it, so you’ll just have to catch it at the right time and that time varies throughout the day.

Riders board an elevator to the flight platform where they board their rockets. It’s two people per rocket. The person in the front has a handle that controls the rocket’s movement up and down. When you’re flying high, it provides an incredible panoramic view of the Magic Kingdom.

We’ve done this staple ride at Disney for years and it’s always fun. The rockets glide in a circle and come to a nice soft landing at the end. For kids who enjoy controlling the ascent and descent of ride vehicles, they’ll really enjoy this one.

Walt Disney had an affinity for progress and especially space travel. This ride reflects Walt’s love of that genre. I highly recommend this one for parents and kids to ride together. It’s entertaining and fun!
