You forgot to mention that if you live in a city, it’s most likely Dem, so there’s really no point in voting. Your vote is lost in the noise ;-)

Voting for a third party is *not* the same as abstaining IMHO. Abstaining could mean you’re too lazy to vote or don’t care. Voting for a third party says you vote but are disgusted by the top two parties. That’s a totally different message. The third parties will most likely never win, but how else would you make that statement? Primaries are where votes are actually important…
