1% unicorn rate over 9 months + the spreadsheet of the Quild list (to date)
Yesterday, Future Unicorn #200 went out. It has been 9 months since I started this project of highlighting early-stage startups with statistically significant signals of becoming unicorns. So I wanted to do a look back. How well have I done?
After being posted on Quild:
- 0% were acquired or listed on the stock exchange
- 1% became unicorns
- 14% announced additional funding
Considering that only 1% of venture-backed companies founded since 2000 became unicorns, Quild getting to 1% within 9 months is not bad (patting myself on the back).
To celebrate: here’s the entire list to date on a spreadsheet.
Favorite restaurant at the moment: Ilcha, a modern Korean restaurant. The cured shrimp and fried chicken are divine. The hotpots are amazing too.
