10. Chief Keef

This is Chief Keef in his famous song Faneto

Chief Keef is a 23 year old rapper out of Chicago . He put what many would call “Chiraq” on the map. “Chiraq” is a nickname for Chicago because the death toll was at one point was worse than the war in Iraq. I would argue and I think that many would agree that Chief Keef has started the new wave of rap for this generation. Thats why i put him on this list not because of his talent but because of his affect on the rapper culture. He is the Godfather of soundclound rap. Many current rappers have given credit to Chief Keef for inspiring their music, for example Lil Pump, Playboi Carti, Smokepurp, 6ix9ine, Lil Uzi Vert, Future, etc. I feel Chief Keef created the new age of mumble rap and glorifying drug addiction. Songs like “Hate being Sober” and “Faneto” just shows us how much he loves drugs. I mean look at the title of the song. It speaks for itself. All this being sad Chief Keef has created some of my favorite songs as a teen. My favorite Chief Keef songs are “Kobe”, and everybodys favorite “Love Sosa” which put Chief Keef on the map, “I Don’t Like”, and personal favorite Chief Keef song “ Love No Thotties”. Chief Keef made my top ten list because of the effect he has had on the rap world. He started the soundclound/mumble rap.

9. 6ix9ine

6ix9ine in famous music video “Billy’

6ix9ine is the most hated “rapper” in the music industry currently. I don’t consider him a rapper, I see him as the person he really is which is a joke or a troll. He made my top ten list because even though he’s a joke you have to respect him on a business point of view. You have to respect that he is sticking to his act because thats what this is, its an act. and you have respect that he's selling records and getting views on youtube. You have to give him credit for staying in character and after all he is a millionare and I am not, so in a way he did something right. Tekashi’s top songs are “Billy”, “Gummo”, “Keke”, and “Tati”. He’s my number 9 because of his current relevance and fame.

8. SOB x RBE

Rap group SOBxRBE

SOB x RBE is a rap group out of Vallejo, California. It was created in 2016. Consists of 4 rappers Yhung T.O, DaBoii, Slimmy B, and Lul G. They are mostly teenagers. Their ages rage from 18 -20. They rose to fame at a pretty young age. The name of the group is an acronym for “Strictly Only Brothers, Real Boi Entertainment”. They are number 8 out of ten for their fame and talent. I think they are the mosted talented young rap group in the music industtry. They will be the next Migos. They gained national attention for their song “Paramedic” on the hit movie Black Panther. Some of my favorite song by them are “ On My Momma”, “Anti”, and “Backwards”.

7. Lil Pump

18 year old Gazzy Garcia aka “Lil Pump” is a soundclound rapper from Miami, Florida. He gained his fame in songs like “ D-Rose” and “Eesketit”. Lil Pump is problaby my least favorite rapper but because of his socail fame I put him on this. He’s part of the category of rappers that are drug addicts and glorify drug use. He getd a lot of views on youtube and sells out concerts because of his repetative and catchy lyrics. I dont like Lil pump because his songs are bout drugs and its like hes exploiting people with actual drug addiction.

6. Shoreline Mafia

left(Oh Geesy), Right(Fenix Flex)

Shoreline Mafia is one of my favorites on this list. They are a rap group from Los Angeles, California. It’s a group that consists of two artist Oh Geesy and Fenix Flex, their also best friends. They’re music is about streetlife and trying to make money. I listened to them alot I gues when i was going through faze’s as a teen so thats why I really like them. Their most famous songs are “Musty”, “Nun Major”, and “Bands”. They talk about drug use a little bit. I wouldn’t say they glorify drug use because they don’t try to make it seem like taking drugs are cool instead they talk about their own battle with drug addiction. They are one of the hottest rappers out of Los Angeles currently.

5. Lil Yatchy

Lil Yachty

Lil Yachty is a 21 year old from Atlanta, Georgia. He is the best lyrcist on the list actually he is problaby the best overall artist on the list just because he doesnt spread any bad messages. He puts out really good albums most rappers put out albums and they only have one good song on it. Lil Yachty puts out albums and he has 5 good songs on it. You could say that hes consistent with his quality of music. Some of his best songs are “One Night” and “Peek-a-boo”. He’s alaso good on the business side of things, he has a deal with Sprite. He is the Good Guy on this list.

4. Take-Off

Take off

Definitely the most underrated rapper on here. Take-Off barely makes the cut by 1 year he is 24 years old. He is an Atlanta native. Also he is part of the Migos rap. He gets the least about of credit in the group yet I personally feel he is better rapper than Quavo and Offset. He is the quiet one of the group and definitely the least famous one in the group. You could say that he doesnt get the credit he deserves.

3. PlayBoi Carti

PlayBoi Carti

22 year old PlayBoi Carti is from Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta is on top of the rap game right now with rappers like Migos, Gunna, Gucci Mane, Lil Yachty, and Future. PlayBoi Carti is the most talented rapper on the list. He his travis Scotts protege. He has a rock/ Rap sound to Music. You listen to his music at Parties. Also he’s huge in the fashion industry. He started the trend of Jordans, Skinny Jeans, and Over-sized T-Shirts. He paid his mainstream debut with his album Cozy Tapes which is one of my favorite alnums of 2018. You could say he is the next Travis Scott.

2. Drakeo-The-Rulre

drakeo The Ruler

Drakeo the Ruler is my favorite rapper right now. People considered him underground because he hasnt been able to break into the mainstream media. Mostly because he’s been in and out of jail so many times. He is my generations Gucci mane. He is Street guy kind of vibe which is weird because most successful rappers right now are pretty boys. In his music he expresses his struggle of living in poverty and having to resort to illegal crime as a source of income. His only problem is thar he is still part of the street life so thats why he hasn’t broke through to the main stream Media.

  1. Kodak Black

At age 21 Kodak black is number one on my list. He’s number one because along with being one of my favorite rappers, he produces goodmusic. has great lyrics that kids who come from struggling familys can relate to, and he is socially relevant. He is from Pompona Beach Florida. I like him because he’s just raw, he just acts like himself which street kid who is smarted than he looks. In some of his songs he conveys a political message, about black culture. Some of his most famous songs are “No Flockin”, “There He Go”, and “Tunnel Vision”.+
