Tombs Hang on To Beat Bulldogs

Georgetown fans will have something to cheer about this season. Transfers Brandon Murray and Primo Spears led the Tombs to an 84–75 win over the Bulldogs. The two continued to develop strong chemistry with one another. They led the Tombs to a 42–34 lead at the break. The Bulldogs got within one point with three minutes to play but that would be the closest they got the rest of the way. Morgan State’s Will Thomas led the way with 24 points and six boards. Spears added 22 points and seven assists. Murray finished with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks.

Clyde’s Defeat Call Your Mother

After a back-and-forth game, Clyde’s hung on late to defeat Call Your Mother. The two team played a tight first half before Call Your Mother took a 35–31 at the break. Georgetown alum Rodney Pryor iced the game late with a pair of free throws. VJ King scored a game high 15 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals.

Higher Level Blows Out On-Point

Higher Level led from start to finish and cruised to an easy 68–53 over On Point. George Mason’s Devonte Gaines finished with a game high 26 points and 15 boards. He knocked down five threes.

McClinton All Stars Coast to Easy Win

After a slow start, McClinton All Stars coasted to an easy win over Hoop Magic, 74–58. They led 11–7 with 13 minutes to go in the half. After that, they went on a 27–9 run to end the first half and took a 38–16 lead at the break. Hoop Magic wouldn’t challenge the rest of the way. Jerian Grant had 18 points to lead all scorers.

Three Point Barrage in Second Half Carries A. Wash

A. Wash used a strong second half to blow out Brains, Skills, and Guts, 102–80. George Mason’s Devon Cooper knocked down six treys in the first half and scored 20 points to give Brains, Skills, and Guts a 40–39 lead at the break. Three-point shooting made the difference in the second as A. Wash took the lead quicky and pulled away. Cooper finished with 33 points to lead all scorers.
