As someone who has held an MBA specializing in marketing for several decades, and who has a life-long learning mentality built into his DNA, I’ve grown to conclude that marketing has become a bane to our societal underpinnings. It’s gotten too sophisticated and too intrusive; but the single greatest indictment against it, it’s gotten too influential and way too manipulative, both psychologically and emotionally.

Consumers in particular have surrendered the very center of their being to those who engage in soulless marketing, which happens to encompass a disproportionate number of people on both sides of the fence — consumers and marketers alike.
