There’s a built-in antagonism between companies wanting to make money and consumers wanting to save money (and/or best the system). It’s like a cat and mouse game, with each continually extending the boundaries at the extremes.
The common denominator is integrity — or rather, the constant chipping away at it. As is, the societal consequences of this ongoing dynamic could eventually take an irreversible toll, where neither wins impunity.
With the influx of AI on the immediate horizon, one might be compelled to wonder whether it will bolster integrity or accelerate it devolution?
Whereas the former offers an intriguing opportunity, the latter will simply squander it.
We should be wary now about what will actually get unleashed.
