After a very successful year that included wins at ESL One Stockholm and Malaysia, OG Esports and Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf have decided to mutually part ways. The former OG offlaner now has offers from different teams to play either carry or offlane.

OG Esports, owned by Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs has had an incredibly successful year with their 2022 lineup. A combination of young players such as Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov and ATF who both came from Creepwave. The organization combined the young stars with Tommy “Taiga” Le, a veteran who had a very successful run with Team Liquid before joining the roster.

The team was able to finish first place at the end of the Western Europe Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) tour 2, and had top three and four finishes in the remaining tours respectively. The team was always able to perform when they came on LAN, leading to them winning both major ESL One events this year at Stockholm and Malaysia.

The rumors began to circle when ATF’s match history was filled with carry picks in all of his pub games. Without pause, the Dota subreddit was filled with speculation.

It would not be surprise to see ATF move to the carry position as he is known to be one of the greedier offlaners in the entireity of the professional scene. Whether it be his lane dominant performances on picks such as Razor and Huskar, or his legendary Timbersaw, fans may see a different version of the ATF they knew in the next season. There is no confirmation on which teams have reached out to ATF, but he has offers to play both positions.
