สภาพดินที่เหมาะในการปลูกแก้วมังกร — Soil Condition to grow dragon fruit

ต้นแก้วมังกรสามารถปลูกได้ในทุกสภาพดินเช่น ดินปนทราย,ดินเหนียว,ดินลูกรัง แต่ถ้าเป็นดินเหนียวและดินลูกรังจำเป็นจะต้องมีการปรับหน้าดินด้วยการใส่ปุ๋ยคอกและแกลบดำ

จริงๆแล้วต้นแก้วมังกรเป็นต้นไม้ที่ชอบอาศัยอยู่ในดินโปร่ง ร่วนซุย ไม่แน่นจนเกินไป และสามารถระบายน้ำได้ดี ด้วยความที่แก้วมังกรเป็นพืชตระกูลตะบองเพชรจึงเป็นพืชที่ชอบอากาศร้อนและแดดจัดในการปลูกแก้วมังกรนั้น จึงควรเตรียมพื้นที่ให้อยู่ที่โล่งแจ้งไม่มีร่มเงา ของต้นไม้อื่นมาบัง แก้วมังกรจะสามารถเจริญเติบโตได้ดีและออกดอกออกผลได้อย่างน่าพอใจ

Dragon Fruit can be cultivated in every soil condition, such as; sandy soil, clay, red earth. For clay and red earth soil, we recommend performing a soil condition amendment, adding manure and black chaff to loosen up soil to be well drained yet still be able to hold water to keep the plant healthy.

Dragon Fruit is one of cactus species. Dragon Fruit like hot weather and heavy sunlight. Therefore keeping the planting area clear and open without any shade of another tree is a must, Dragon Fruit will grow well and be very productive.

การให้ผลผลิต ของแก้วมังกร— Yield of Dragon Fruit

ผลผลิตที่ได้เมื่อปลูกแก้วมังกร

• ช่วงปีแรก ก็จะเริ่มให้ผลผลิตประมาณ 30 ผลต่อหนึ่งค้าง
• ปีที่ 2 ประมาณ 50 ผลต่อหนึ่งค้าง
• ปีที่ 3ประมาณ 100 ถึง 200 ผลต่อหนึ่งค้าง
• ปีที่4- 15 ประมาณ 300 ผลต่อหนึ่งค้างขึ้นไป

ขนาดของผลโดยเฉลี่ย 3–4 ผลต่อหนึ่งกิโลกรัม โดยเฉลี่ยแล้วถ้าไม่ทำการเก็บเกี่ยวนอกฤดูแก้วมังกรจะให้ผลผลิตถึง 16 รอบ ต่อปี ตั้งแต่เดือน กุมภาพันธุ์ ถึง ตุลาคม

• The 1st year, the yield is around 30 fruits per one tree
• The 2nd year 50 fruits per tree
• The 3rd year 100–200 fruits per tree
• The 4th -15th year, it will give around 300 fruits per tree.

On average with no out-of-season harvest, dragonfruit tree will give 16 rounds of production from Febuary to October(in Thailand).

การปลูกแก้วมังกรนอกฤดู — Off Season Dragon Fruit

หากต้องการให้ผลผลิตออกทั้งปีก็สามารถทำได้โดยใช้หลอดไฟขนาด 200 วัตต์หนึ่งดวงต่อเสาสี่เสา เปิดไฟตั้งแต่เวลา 19.00 ถึง 5.00 น. ติดต่อกันทุกคืนเป็นเวลา 15 คืน ตาดอกก็จะเริ่มสร้างขึ้นมา คลำดูที่ตาใต้หนามจะรู้สึกได้หลังจากนั้นอีกประมาณ 5 วัน ดอกก็จะพัฒนาเติบโตขึ้นเรื่อยๆ จนอายุ ได้ 15 วัน ก็จะบานและผสมติดอีก 30 วัน ก็จะเริ่มสุกและเก็บผลได้

โรคและแมลงที่พบ ในแก้วมังกร— Dragon Fruit Disease and pest

โรคโคนเน่า ส่วนสาเหตุที่ทำให้เกิดโรคโคนเน่า เนื่องจากการให้น้ำมากจนเกินไปดังนั้นผู้ปลูกควรระวังการให้น้ำ และควรให้น้ำในอัตราที่เหมาะสม หากเกิดโรคแล้วให้ปาดเนื้อที่เน่าออกแล้วนำปูนแดง(ปูนทาหมาก)ทาที่แผลหรือใช้ยาป้องกันเชื้อราทาก็ได้

ศัตรูตัวฉกาจของแก้วมังกรก็คือ เจ้ามดคันไฟ กัดยอดอ่อน หากมีมดมาก่อกวนให้ใช้ยาฆ่ามดกำจัด ตัวอย่างยี่ห้อยาเช่น ซันเจี่ย ,เซฟวิน85, คลุก40 ,หรือฟูราดาน

อีกหนึ่งศัตรูคือ เพลี้ยไฟ เพราะมาทำให้ผิวของผลแก้วมังกรไม่สวยงาม วิธีแก้คือพยายามอย่าให้มีคราบปุ๋ยยาหลงเหลืออยู่บนผล ใช้กับดับแมลงช่วยในการกำจัด

สุดท้ายคือ นก ซึ่งมากินผลของเราเมื่อผลสุด การแก้ไขมีหลายวิธี ไม่ว่าจะเป็นการห่อลูกแก้วมังกรที่สุกบนต้นด้วยถุงกระดาษ หรือพยายามอย่าเหลือแก้วมังกรที่สุดงอมเกินไปติดต้น

Bacterial Soft Rot, The disease is cased by bacteria where the infected plant will show yellowish to brownish soft and watery symptoms on stems and fruits. On the stem, the smelly lesion tissues subsequently softened and rotted leaving the main vein intact; while the rotten fruit would be totally destroyed after 3 days initial symptoms appeared. This disease is the most dangerous to dragon fruit. To control, Prune off dying stem, spray copper sulfate on plants and keep using good nutrition practice.

Anthracnose, Casual agent is fungus Collectotrichum gloesperoides, red brown concentric lesions with ascervuli developed near ribs of vine, where the spines emerged from the rib edge. Disease also attacks fruits and become prominent during wet seasons. To control remove disease-infected branches from the tree. Spray with fungicides like Mancozeb or Maneb for control

The crucial pest of dragon fruit is Ant. feed on sap from flowers, young fruits and mature fruit skin thus causing blemishes. Ants can also attack young succulent stems or tips causing necrosis. The control is to regular monitor, treat with chemical(Carbaryl) or use wood vinegar to chase ants/

Thrips feeding leaves a stippled pattern on the plats thus resulting in aesthetic problem on both fruits and stems. Try to clean crop debris and remove weeds to eliminate alternate hosts. Use Sticky traps to control thrip population

Birds and rodents eat unwrapped and over-ripe fruits from harvesting. To control, we can do fruit bagging and avoid leaving over-ripe fruits on the trees.

วิธีการปลูก — How to grow

วิธีการปลูกสามารถปลูกได้ 2 รูปแบบได้แก่ การเลือกกิ่งที่จะมาผลูกนั้นสำคัญคือควรจะใช้กิ่งที่แก่หน่อยและแข็งแรงมีอายุอย่างต่ำสามปีขึ้นไป กิ่งที่จะมาปลูกควรมีขนาด 80–125 เซนติเมตร

Stem Cutting is the most preferred method for commercial planting, Cutting stems should be selected from highly producing and health trees with age around 3 years old, the stems should be around 80–125 long

ปลูกในกระถาง (Growing in the plant pot)

ใช้ต้นแก้วมังกร 1–2 ต้นต่อหนึ่งหลัก การปลูกในกระถางเป็นการปลูกเพื่อไว้ประดับหรือเป็นไม้มงคลเท่านั้น

อุปกรณ์ที่ต้องใช้ในการปลูก
1.ท่อน้ำทิ้งข้างในกลวงหน้ากว้าง4 นิ้ว ยาว 1.3 เมตร(หรือเสาไม้ก็ได้)
2.กระถางหน้ากว้าง 50 ซ.ม.
3.ค้างด้านบนอาจทำจากไม้หรือปูนเป็นรูป 4 เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส กว้าง x ยาว 30 ซ.ม
4.ขุยมะพร้าว
5.ดิน
6.เชือกฟาง
7.สกรูและน๊อต

วิธีการปลูก
1. ใช้เสาตั้งเป็นหลักในกระถาง ยึดค้างไว้ด้านบนด้านสกรูหรือน้อต
2. ใส่ขุยมะพร้าวรองก้นกระถาง เพื่อให้น้ำถ่ายเทได้ดีในอัตราส่วน1ใน3ของปริมาตรกระถาง จากนั้น
3.นำดินสำเร็จรูปผสมกับขุยมะพร้าวหรือแกลบดำ ใส่ลงไปในกระถางจนถึงขอบกระถาง
4.นำต้นแก้วมังกรมาปลูกให้ชิดกับเสาแล้วใช้เชือกฟางมัดต้นแก้วมังกรให้ติดกับเสาไม่ต้อง(มัดให้แน่นมาก
ควรผูกไว้จนกว่าต้นแก้วมังกรจะเจริญเติบโตจนพ้นหัวเสา
5.จากนั้นนำดินมากลบด้านบนของกระถางเป็นอันเสร็จ

*ต้นแก้วมังกร เป็นสามเหลี่ยมแต่จะมีอยู่ด้านหนึ่งที่เป็นด้านแบน ดังนั้นเวลาผูกต้นแก้วมังกร ให้จับด้านแบนของต้นเข้ากับหลักเพราะว่าด้านแบนเป็นด้านที่จะออกราก

Growing in the plant pot (using 1–2 branches per one pole) Growing in the plant pot is used for decoration only not for commercial purpose.

Needed equipment and materials
1. hollow cement water pipe with 1.3 meters long and 4 inches diameter(or wooden pole)
2. plant pot ½ meter diameter
3. wooden or cement shoulder square 30×30 cms
4. dry coconut flakes
5. Soil
6. Rope
7. Knots and screw

Growing procedure
1.set water pipe up in the pot ,attach the shoulder square on the top with screw and knot
2.put dry coconut flakes in the bottom of pot for 1/3 of the pot volume
3.full the rest with the soil mixed with coconut flakes.
4.plunge dragon fruit branch down around the water pipe, tie it with water pipe by using rope(don’t tie too tight)
5.top one more layer of soil in the pot.

Note: dragon fruit branch has 3 edge shape, the flattest side should be attached with the pole because that the climber root will come out from that side.

ปลูกแก้วมังกรในพื้นที่กว้าง (Growing on the Ground)

ใช้ต้นแก้วมังกร 4 ต้นต่อหนึ่งหลัก

อุปกรณ์ที่ต้องใช้ในการปลูก
1.ท่อน้ำทิ้งข้างในกลวงหน้ากว้าง6 นิ้ว ยาว 2 เมตร(หรือเสาไม้ก็ได้)
2.ค้างด้านบนอาจทำจากไม้หรือปูนเป็นรูป 4 เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส กว้าง x ยาว 30 ซ.ม
3.ดิน
4.เชือกฟาง
5.สกรูและน๊อต

วิธีการปลูก
1.ใช้เสาท่อน้ำทิ้งข้างในกลวง ตั้งเป็นหลัก
2.ขุดดินลึกลงไป 50 ซ.ม. จากนั้นนำเสาฝั้งลงไป50ซม.เสาจะโผล่จากดิน150ซม.ตําเสาให้แน่นจับระดับน้ำทุกด้าน.

3.ฟันให้เป็นโขดรอบหลักลักษณะคล้ายฝาชี จากนั้นก็นำต้นแก้วมังกร 4ต้น มาปลูกลง 4 ด้านของหลัก โดยใช้เชือกฟางมัดแบบหลวมๆต้องมัดจนกว่าจะพ้นหัวหลัก
4.จากนั้นนำดินข้างๆโขดมากลบบนต้นที่ปลูก แต่ลักษณะยังคงคล้ายฝาชี การทำโขดแบบฝาชี เผื่อให้น้ำสามารถไหลผ่านโดยไม่ขังอยู่ที่โคนต้น ซึ่งอาจเป็นสาเหตุ ทำให้เกิดโรคโคนเน่า
5.ใช้ฟางปิดรอบโขดเป็นอันเสร็จ

**ต้นแก้วมังกร เป็นสามเหลี่ยมแต่จะมีอยู่ด้านหนึ่งที่เป็นด้านแบน ดังนั้นเวลาผูกต้นแก้วมังกร ให้จับด้านแบนของต้นเข้ากับหลักเพราะว่าด้านแบนเป็นด้านที่จะออกราก

Growing on the ground in open area (using 4 branches per one pole)

Needed Equipment and materials

1. hollow cement water pipe with 2 meters long and 6 inches diameter(or wooden

2. soil

3.Rope

4.wood square 30×30cm. Or cement squares

5.Knots and screw

Growing procedure
1. set water pipe up, attach the shoulder square on the top with screw and knot

2. dig the hole with 30 cms depth, stab half of 60 cms pine or bamboo stick in bottom of the hole and leave the other half point upward. insert water pipe in the hole by putting foundation pin inside the pipe. Add 1 bucket of cement inside.
3.add the soil around the pole like the upside down-bowl shape in order to avoid flood of water around the root and reduce spoil root problem
4.plunge dragon fruit branch down around the water pipe, tie it with water pipe by using rope(don’t tie too tight)
5.top one more layer of soil but still keep it in the same shape. Put rice straw on top.

Note: dragon fruit branch has 3 edge shape, the flattest side should be attached with the pole because that the climber root will come out from that side.

การดูแลรดน้ำ ให้ปุ๋ย — fertilization and watering

การให้ปุ๋ย — Applying fertilizer

1.ใส่ปุ๋ยทุก 50วัน ใส่ครั้งละ 2–4 ช้อนโต๊ะ สูตรที่ใช้ 15–15–15 หรือ 16–16–16 หลังจากใส่ปุ๋ยแล้วต้องรดน้ำติดต่อกันเป็นเวลา 3วัน (วันละครั้งเช้าหรือเย็นก็ได้) ถ้ามีปุ๋ยคอกเช่นมูลไก่ หรือ มูลวัวก็ใช้ได้ และให้ใส่เดือนละ 1 ครั้ง

2. เมื่อปลูกได้เป็นระยะเวลา 6 เดือน ให้ใส่ปุ๋ยสูตร 8–24–24 ผสมกับ 15–15–15 ในอัตราส่วนครึ่งต่อครึ่ง

3. บางครั้งให้ใช้สาหร่ายสกัดผสมน้ำรดเพื่อช่วยเร่งในการเจริญเติบโต และอาหารเสริมต่างๆด้วย

4.ต้องฉีดยาเชื้อราคลุมเวลาฝนตกหลายวันติดกัน หรือช่วงที่ต้นมังกรติดลูก แล้วฝนตกชุก เพราะถ้าไม่ฉีดอาจจะทำให้ดอกร่วง ติดผลน้อย หรืออาจเป็นโรคแอนเทคโนได้

5.ควรใช้ปุ๋ยทางใบ(ปุ๋ยเกล็ด)เพื่อช่วยเร่งการเจริญเติบโตของต้นแก้วมังกร ให้มีประสิทธิภาพดีขึ้น สูตรที่ใช้คือ (18–18–18),(21–21–21)

6.ควรใช้ยาสารเร่งประสิทธิภาพ (ยาจับใบ ) ทุกครั้งที่ฉีดพ่นปุ๋ยหรือยาฆ่าแมลง เพราะผิวของต้นแก้วมังกร มีลักษณะมันและลื่นทำให้ยาและปุ๋ยไม่สามารถจับติดกับต้นได้ดี

1. Applies fertilizer every 50 days. Using 15–15–15,16–16–16 for 2–4 tbsp and then water it 1 time per day (morning or evening)three days in a row afterward. On the other hand manure can applied one time per month.
2. After growing for 6 months use 8–24–24 with 15–15–15 in 50:50 ratio instead.
3. Spilurina solution or 18–18–18 or 21–21–21 can be used to stimulate dragonfruit to grow faster.
4. Prevent mold by spraying mold-killer in case that rain fall many days in a row.
   If not, the flower will be slipped off and causes Antechno disease.

การรดน้ำ — Watering

ให้รดน้ำเพียง 1 ครั้ง ภายใน 2–3 วัน และไม่ควรรดมากเกินไปเพราะอาจทำให้เป็นโรคโคนเน่าได้

Watering should be performed every two or three days each time, not more than that because spoil root problem can occur.
