I try and focus on small daily wins rather than a large, long term goal. So rather than focus on the ultimate goal of becoming a full-time programmer or mastering a certain framework, I focus on practicing and coding for 30 minutes a day. This way you are making consistent progress, but you get the satisfaction of succeeding from the progress itself, rather than the ultimate destination.
