How much viewers watched “The Office” before and during the pandemic.

With movie theaters closed and the stream of new content drying up as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, viewers are returning to their old favorites. Few classic TV sitcoms are more popular than The Office, which ran from 2005–2013 on NBC, and has become one of the most frequently-viewed shows on Netflix.

Not only are more people watching ‘The Office’ on Netflix, but they are also consuming the comedy series at a faster rate than ever before, owing to the surplus of free time and limited entertainment options during the quarantine.

Let’s take a look at the figures:

“The Office” viewing habits before the pandemic:

  • Viewers watch an average of 4 episodes a day
  • Viewers watch for around 1.46 hours (88 minutes) a day
  • Viewers complete the show (nine seasons) in 54 days

“The Office” viewing habits during the pandemic:

  • Viewers watch an average of 10 episodes a day
  • Viewers watch for around 3.6 hours (220 minutes) a day
  • Viewers complete the show (nine seasons) in 18 days
