The Power of Knowing Our Powerlessness…

When we’re young, we’re mostly driven by dreams about our future.

When we’re middle-aged, we’re mostly driven by the practicalities of survival.

When we’re old, we’re mostly stuck with memories of our pasts.

When we’re about to die, we’re mostly awakened, if we’re finally awakened at all, to the importance and necessity of living in the present.

When we see the Truth, we’ll start living in the present regardless of how young or old we’re while at the same time co-existing peacefully with our dreams, memories, joys and sorrows, excitements and disappointments, likes and dislikes, desires and aversions… and everything else life has to offer us.

It’s a whole gamut of everything which we just don’t have the luxury to choose nor the power to avoid…
