— Medals are earned when the player beats the “world record” of each puzzle by using the minimum number of moves.
Claudius is name of game hero. He has got shipwrecked on the Island of Pixelus.
The island gods are upset because their temple floors are broken.
To get back home, you need to appease the gods by restoring the floor mosaics.
You must form certain designs on the floor, sliding tiles over the bright spots. You can only slide a tile if there is one tile to stop it. Sometime you´ll need to slide the tiles in order, sometimes you will have to place a tile to act as a temporary stopper, or a combination of techniques.
After you have completed the tutorial, you can start playing. First, you will play in the Temple of Flora, as you succeed in completing levels, you will be promoted till you arrive to the next chapter.
You can ask for Hints for one move or every move in every level. The game will show you how to slide the tiles to complete the design.
There are nine chapters with 201 puzzles in total that are unlocked by fixing a certain amount of floors.
There are quite a few puzzles in Pixelus and a cheesy story that has little to do with the gameplay. However, the presentation is quite nice, and the music is entertaining enough. Unfortunately there’s a bug that prevents you from turning it off and keeping it off. Although the puzzles can be challenging, most of them take only a few tries to solve. Because you can get a hint at any point in the game, there’s little opportunity for you to get stuck. Pixelus is an interesting puzzle game, and not quite as overplayed as others, but it isn’t compelling enough to highly recommend.
The objective of this game is to create specific images on a 16x16 grid using a limited number of tiles. Players must slide tiles across the grid and land them in specific locations to form an image. Areas where tiles must be placed are often not immediately accessible. For this reason, tiles must often be used to block other tiles, then removed and placed in other locations. During gameplay, players may choose to reset the puzzle, go back one move, and receive a hint. On completing a puzzle, players can receive gold, silver, or bronze medals based on how few moves they used.
This game is not yet in the mainstream and maybe not your type game because for other people, it’s kind of boring. But for me and my partner Precious, this is a very good game because of what I’ve said earlier ago.
