Comey-Day: The First-Ever Media-Driven Impeachment of a US President

God knows the USA and its citizens are not standards for perfection about democracy and government of, by, and for the people. But at least the founders of the country, and even some of its citizens make an effort to create a democracy. They put their words and personal welfare on the line for it. Read the US Constitution. Freedom of speech, assembly, the press, and all the rest. Sounds sort of trite today with all the hip people thinking a strong, authoritarian “leader” is a better way to go. The founders had their lives controlled by a strong, authoritarian “leader.” They didn’t like it. They “declared,” “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.” We certainly have never lived up to these brave words. But they are our goal. Now you and others pretend that it’s all just about party politics, media circuses, and cynical political correctness. Donald Trump has never shown any interest or belief in democracy or the welfare of US citizens. He’s just a parasite. A parasite that needs to expunged from American life so once again we can consider making our hoped for democracy work. That’s one of the many reasons Mr. Comey’s testimony is therapeutic for the nation.
