Building A New Social App Today is Insane

I’m a huge Casey Neistat fan but honestly Beme was a disappointment.

While I appreciate pushing people into being more genuine, I don’t understand the inherent and intentional lack of self-editing. Especially when all of Casey’s work is everything but.

His most successful piece of work to date is, arguably, his vlog which is carefully put together and where clever filming and editing are two of its most important, if not defining, foundations.

In addition, Casey has very little boundaries (even though he doesn’t think so) and he effortlessly shares his personal life, which is something I imagine most people won’t be doing, especially in a medium where you can’t self-edit yourself.

I honestly had my fingers crossed for some sort of vlogging app that would enable users to record their life and automagically edit a daily vlog for them, which is kind of what Beme does, but not in a meaningful or particularly interesting way.
