Good question! I don’t use any budgeting programs, but only because I never keep up with them. For me, the most effective thing is writing down every single bill and recurring expense on paper. It takes a long time to write them down, and while I’m writing them, I think about whether I really need to be spending money on those things. Some things are non-negotiables, like rent and electricity, but some things are both unnecessary and unenjoyable.
