The thought DOES count. One of my biggest problems about how most (not all) white people perceive African Americans is they think we’re a problem people. All they hear about is crime, gangs, and questionable moral choices.
Some white people don’t understand the depth and breadth of our excellence because they have seen very little of it (unless it’s Black History Month) and they aren’t motivated to seek it out.
In addition, there’s nothing that says you can only do one thing. Do ALL the things. It’s all good.
