Google is a publicly held company. In their corporate charter there are dozens of policies that spell out the companies operating system and employment policies. Going to work for them is a choice on both the employer and the employee. If the author of the manifesto took issue with the employment rules he had the choice to leave, never sign on or to attempt to change policy through the existing system. He chose to grandstand. Google chose to fire him.
End of story.
Google’s management and board run the company, not the employees. Right or wrong that is how capitalism works. Despite Google’s asinine policies, they are still Google’s policies.
Those of us who disagree with the legal rights of Google to run the company as they see fit have choices of our own. Our voting rights reside in our wallets and in our decision whether to use Google products or not.
Choose your battle. But anticapitalism on the right is no less egregious than that of the left.
