Years ago, before Kmart went bankrupt and bought Sears Roebuck and screwed both companies investors, Kmart had gained a reputation as a terrible place to shop or work.

I remember one in Memphis I would go to every fall to buy boots and winter work clothes. Kmart was the only store that carried the brand I liked.

One year, 2002 maybe, they didnt have the brand I wanted on the shelf. It was a really good brand and very popular in the South among the outdoor and working class so sometimes it was out of stock.

I spent twenty minutes searching the huge store for an employee. I wanted to ask when the next delivery was coming. Twenty minutes. Not a soul. In the entire public area of the store. Not even at checkout.
