Hong Kong

In a moment of weakness and longing for “hometown” friends, I booked a ticket and headed off to Hong Kong to spend a long weekend with one of my friends.

Inara has been in HK since the summer and I’ve been dying to visit her to see and hear about her time there so far. She was working most of my trip, but I was able to spend evenings with her and explore the city during the day.

First off the clouds on the plane ride over were awesome, so I obviously had to take some pictures…

Hong Kong skyline
The Clock Tower
My lovely travel companions for our days filled with activities — what was I thinking..
Flower pots along the street were Halloween themed
They have a sort of botanical gardens in HK with a variety of different birds throughout the park
Trees grow on walls here
The trip was definitely filled with laughter
They decided a recreation of the Titanic needed to be done

This street was full of some interesting businesses…

We found a delicious Dim Sum place…

After a filling lunch we stumbled onto a park

Turtle ❤
I love the fact that in Asia you can have a pretty park with a skyline of buildings in the background
We then took the tram to the peak to see the view and catch the sunset

There was an interesting sunset due to the smog

For my sister ❤ Miss you buds
endless Buddhas
The next day we headed out to Lantau Island to see the Big Buddha
Found it!
This was the Wisdom Path
The wishing tree
And then we were off to the airport to head back to Singapore

And here are some shots of the Hong Kong protests….

Hong Kong was definitely a very interesting place and I can’t wait to go back! Especially to see Inara — who will hopefully be coming to Singapore for Christmas?!
