First Thing First: Why Did I Start Blogging?

I love taking notes. Not particularly for classes, but I write things done when I hear anything that I feel worth jotting down.

I finished 6 notebooks in college.

Do I ever review my notes? Almost never. Do I remember what I put there? Not really.

Recently I tried really hard to remember a name that I learned from a friend back in April, but I spent more than 5 min looking for it and couldn’t find it anywhere.

Maybe I should start a better note taking system, or try a new way to organize my thoughts. That’s why blogging came to my mind.

As for another reason, I met Jon Bell (a product designer at Twitter) earlier this year, and asked him how to get better at writing. Now that I think back — why did I ask a designer about writing? Well there is similarity. It’s all about storytelling!

He replied: start writing, everyday, for say 500+ words. He then added: but this is a piece of advice that no one follows.

It has always been on my to-do list to read and write more, so I’ll give it a shot. I don’t know how long I’ll be able to commit, but I know it will be a fun journey.

On a side note, I once read about a behavior change concept that it would be more likely for someone to develop a new habit when he or she is in a new stage of life. True that. Recently I started working. I’d love to try something new, and share my adventure with you. Thanks for joining me! :)
