You’ve just finished a lovely meal, and you’re feeling great. But before you pop your feet up or reach for the remote control, there are a few things that you need to avoid if you want to keep feeling happy and healthy:

#1 Lie down

The next time you feel a little bloated after eating, don’t lie down. It’ll only make things worse.

  • Lying down can cause heartburn and nausea
  • It will also make it harder for your stomach to digest food properly
  • You’ll feel even more uncomfortable than before

#2 Smoke

Smoking can cause heartburn, acid reflux and ulcers. It’s not just the smoke that causes problems: nicotine is a potent stimulant for your digestive system and acts like an irritant to your stomach lining, even if you don’t eat anything after smoking.

Smoking can also cause bloating, constipation or indigestion — and it doesn’t even have to be from eating too much!

If you’re one of those people who smokes before meals, it’s easy enough for some of that smoke to get into your bloodstream and make its way into your gut — a place where it doesn’t belong at all.

Smoking is bad news for any part of your body; the only way around all these…
