Open Educational Resources Are About Much More Than Saving Money
Patrick Larkin

When would you expect teachers to have the time to create these resources? I currently teach with no textbook and no online resources or any outside resources of any kind and find myself getting to work an hour early and staying 2–3 hours after school, in addition to spending 4–6 hours on Sundays. All of this extra work is unmatched by other teachers with textbooks and resources and therefore have to work less, yet we’re paid the same. I think it’s a great idea for teachers to make their own resources to match their students’ needs but with everything else teachers are responsible for on a daily basis, where is the time?
