Life Lessons

It’s been a year in the real world. I wanted to take time to document the life lessons I’ve learned. They’re bound to change over time, so I thought it be nice to timestamp the ones I carry with me today. These are obviously opinions.

  1. Research is an ineffective way to change the world. The best way to make an impact is to invent something that people consume.
  2. Always include people. Take care in the conversation you choose, especially in groups. I try to choose topics that everyone can contribute to. I also invite people relentlessly. If I have plans to go to an event, I’ll fire off tens of messages.
  3. Everyone hates being wrong. I’m still working on how to correct people without offending them.
  4. Having solid friendships means I never feel lonely. I know they are there for me whenever and wherever.
  5. If you really cared, you would make time for it. This is my core life principle. It’s a something I hold myself and my friends to. It’s a principle I learned from my undergrad advisor.
