Good stuff Alison. What is your interpretation of the story Ford told Old Bill? This quote — “That dog had spent its whole life trying to catch that thing.” — seems to indicate it has a much deeper meaning than a story of an old greyhound.

The dog sounds a lot like Dolores to me. Dolores is seeking “that thing” and once she gets it, she won’t know what to do with it. But it could also be Ford himself. He got what he wanted and now he’s bored with it. What do you think?
