The NFL’s extra point rule was never enough. They should’ve moved the two-point conversion to the one yard line to increase the chance of two-point conversion success, and therefore total conversion attempts. This is what the Eagles proposed. Bill Belichick was one year ahead of the rule change and in 2014 proposed moving the extra point to the 25 yard line instead of the 15 yard line. This would’ve accomplished close to the same thing as the Eagles proposal in regards to equalizing the risk/reward of both attempts.
