Hmm.. I said “While The Ringer might have a strange fascination with The Fast and the Furious (I’ve never seen one, so I can’t say whether it’s warranted), Collins himself hasn’t particularly engaged in it.”
My point wasn’t that he hadn’t mentioned it, but that he hadn’t engaged in any sort of overkill or fanboy obsession. He wrote the review, because he’s the site’s movie critic. He commented in the exit review, because that’s what they do. He did his job, as a movie critic, and as a member of the staff which requests that he comment for these exit interviews.
The ending wasn’t meant as a slight, by the way, but a compliment. I think he does a fine job with the blockbuster fare, but it seems like he would have more to say about meatier movies.
