I agree about Wild, Wild West. I don’t know about Django. That stuck pretty close to history, in that, even though he was the hero/protagonist, Jamie Foxx’s character was treated like a black man in the south at the time rather than just another character who happened to be black.

Either way, I agree. The degree of realism expected from the form is going to determine the degree of realism expected by the audience. Having not seen this movie, it’s hard to tell which it is. I was basing it mainly on the review.
