I’ve heard this debated ad nauseam over the last few days, and mulled it over myself. I just don’t see any way that Kyrie ends up in a situation where he is both a) Is the face of the franchise/ has the team built around him, and b) Wins more than 40 or so games.

I’ve just yet to see any evidence that he’s anything more than an excellent scorer. I’d take Wall over him in a second, and, it’s closer, but I personally would prefer Lillard as well. Most importantly, I don’t see any evidence that he’s willing to develop his game (mainly, to be more of a distributor).

He’s not the first player who has made a decision like this because of ego (Shaq comes to mind), but, no knock against him, he’s just not that tier of player. I just can’t imagine getting past the first round with Kyrie as your center piece.
