Wow — talk about a stretch. People were watching because the health care of millions of people, and 1/6 of the economy, was on the line. Reporters read body language because they had nothing else to go on. McCain said “watch the show” because, I don’t know, he’s dying of brain cancer and this was probably a legacy moment for him, as well as because he may actually have some belief in bi-partisanship and wanted to use the moment and attention to speak out for it.

We gotta look relieved on behalf of America, not giddy on behalf of ourselves!”

Yeah, I’m sure they were simply cheering because they “won” and not because they stopped a terrible bill from passing. I’m pretty sure this reflects more upon the author than Schumer.
