Ryan Reynolds “I have anxiety”

I have anxiety, I’ve always had anxiety. I feel like I’m about to throw up before every talk-show appearance. I’ve been to the depths of the darker end of the spectrum, which is not fun.” — Deadpool and star actor Ryan Reynolds

Typically, Reynolds projects his fun-loving and ever confident flare. At those film and press events.

And seemingly- on the surface at least- wouldn’t seem to have a care in the world.

But his reality says otherwise.

Reynolds has also recently revealed that he has dealt with his own mental health issues including severe anxiety and depression.

Quite literally he’s hidden behind his on-screen mask at some of those media appearances to shield himself from the fallout of self doubt and anxiety and the scrutiny of the public eye that follows him around.

Reynolds has also said that “he needs to exercise every day in order to get rid of his ”demons” otherwise he starts to feel ”a little bummed.”

Jumping right into coping mechanisms and how to build a path to wellness, are we?

If you follow me or have heard my message of survival, strength and hope or read my book ‘Cracked Not Broken’ or seen the trailer to my documentary film ‘Suicide: The Ripple Effect’ then you know how passionately I feel about exercise.

It’s something that I do (and try to schedule even when I’m on the road) as much as possible in order to help my own state of mind.

There are many reasons to incorporate physical activity- the kind that gets your heart and blood pumping- into your daily regimen in order to have the highest benefit to your overall brain function and ability to think and process.

Simply put, as Ryan stated above, regular exercise and daily activity can promote wellness.

And that’s just another step towards living better.

Reynolds also said In a 2017 interview with Variety magazine “that it was his wife, Blake Lively, who helped him deal with the stress of working on the first Deadpool movie.”

Illustrating again a prime example of how important community and partners are in being supportive of change and wellness.

In case you haven’t checked it out, though, chapter three on exercise in my ‘Art Of Wellness’ series a #QuickGuide2Hope’ is available on my YouTube channel here:

Exercise is one of the single best natural anti-depressants in the entire world.

Reynolds subscribes to some critical treatment philosophies.

Of fitness, health and wellness and being transparent with those who have his best interests in mind.

His team. His family. Himself.

And you should consider the benefits of these things, too.
