Another Perspective:

Most people suck until they learn how to do it properly and figuring out how the game works. If they fail, they can succeed by learning from their mistakes.

Ego is one of a few factor that drives people to succeed.

There is nothing wrong with giving up. It is perfectly fine to move on to something else. Also, failing takes a huge emotional toll. Why keep doing something that takes an emotional toll. Sometimes it would be easier to find something you are good at naturally and perfect that skill instead.

Why would a person who makes paintings try hard at creative writing if they suck at it; when instead he could be a virtuoso by dedicating his time to something strictly painting.
