Job losses from AI are not a simple consequence of new technology — the only reliable way to build AI systems is by training them based on what people are currently doing. IOW, the innovation STARTS by looking at what people are doing and imaging ways to have AI do it.
For instance, any human task which takes <1 sec (perception tasks) is a great candidate. Driving, sorting, responding to Level 0 customer requests, etc.
It’s time to start having an honest conversation about this.
