I agree, unfortunately the tone comes off a bit self-righteous. A lot of people who do “hard work” as described (basically manual labor) rarely complain about it. Often, they are just happy to have the opportunity to work.

Complaining about complaining about “hard work” seems like a privileged (and maybe disconnected) place to be coming from :)
