Taylor Swift
American music artist
Taylor Swift, whose real name is Taylor Alison Swift, was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, on December 13, 1989. She is an American singer-songwriter of pop and country music whose songs about adolescent heartbreak were quite popular in the early twenty-first century.

Swift had expressed an interest in music at a young age, and she quickly advanced from theatre parts for children to her first performance in front of a large crowd. Before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game when she was 11 years old, she sung "The Star-Spangled Banner." The following year, she picked up the guitar and started writing songs. Swift created original music that expressed her experiences of tween alienation by drawing inspiration from country music performers like Shania Twain and the Dixie Chicks. Swift’s parents sold their farm in Pennsylvania when she was 13 and relocated to Hendersonville, Tennessee, so she could spend more time pursuing country labels in nearby Nashville.
