When someone says intimate wedding venue, you may not think of CRU… but just wait until you see the photos below from their most recent wedding!

The Bride — Julia

We met in 2012, when a mutual friend dragged us both to lunch. Dim had a giant beard that covered his whole face and spoke all of two words the entire meal; needless to say it wasn’t love at first sight. We bumped into each other some months later, he was beard-free and talkative, and we hit it off! It took him almost a year to finally ask me out — since then we have been inseparable.

The past five years have been incredible. We moved to the area four years ago and bought our first apartment. We love the cafes, restaurants and parks, and have so many friends in the area too.

We’re moving to London at the end of the year, and wanted to get married and celebrate with friends and family before we left. When organising the wedding, we knew we wanted to celebrate locally and couldn’t think of a better place to have it than just down the road at CRU.

CRU has always been a special place for us. We spent many a brunch and dinner date there getting to know each other.

A table setting for 12 guests.

We had the best wedding day! Whilst we had a very vague idea of what we wanted from the day, our photographer, florist, celebrant, and of course the whole CRU crew helped shape it into something incredible. I got to marry the love of my life, surrounded by our nearest and dearest, in a place that means so much to us.

The Photographer — Claire

I’ve always loved creating and bought my first camera when I was a teenager. From the very first picture, I was obsessed!

I’ve now been working as a photographer for eight years, beginning my career in fashion and lifestyle. Several years into my business I began to get a handful of wedding enquiries through friends and word-of-mouth, and found my passion working with couples capturing cherished memories and telling their love story.

I love the diversity of weddings — from 300 people or just 30, every wedding has it’s own unique and beautiful story.

Julia and Dim’s wedding has been one of my favourites this year, and CRU was the perfect setting for this sweet, intimate wedding.

More wine? Yes please!

The Venue — Colleen (CRU Functions & Events Coordinator)

I’ve always worked in hospitality, and love it! I graduated university with a Degree of Hospitality Management in Kentucky and completed an internship with one of the Top Wedding Planners in the US, which is where I found my passion for planning and executing weddings.

I’ve been at CRU just on a year now, and plan on being here for many more! I thrive in my role as Functions & Events Coordinator and Assistant Sommelier.

Julia and Dim are two very special friends of CRU and we were so thrilled when they chose our venue to host their wedding.
