Online poetry hub right here in Kew!
Guest blog by Susan Llewelyn
Hello Kew peeps, just wanted to let you know about an exciting new project I’ve started. Along with six other arty, wordy, (some may say crazy) creative, game changers, we’ve launched a new online poetry hub based right here in Kew!
We are all about giving poets and readers of poetry a place to read and publish their work in a supportive and collaborative environment. Too often the road to seeing your work in print or simply sharing it with others is down is inaccessible to most. However we want you to know that Bymepoetry is here! We’re all about disrupting those traditional pathways to publication with something new, super cool and accessible to all.
To inspire you on your writing journey, clear those cobwebs or just to improve some random doodling in your bedroom, we post new works from poets, artwork, word challenges, articles, tips and so much more from poetical peeps all across the globe.

This is all terribly exciting and we’ve been blown away by the support and encouragement thus far since starting just three weeks ago, but I’m looking specifically for some local poetical input to discover the untapped talent I know is right out my front door in our wonderful suburb of Kew.
So what are we looking for? Well we’d like some poems, verse, quotes or sentences please. It could be highfaluting or perfectly short and simple. Whatever floats your boat, as we’re not here to judge!
All work must be original by you or in collaboration with a partner or crew. It may be accompanied by an original graphic, mixed media, photo or illustration. There’s no age minimum or limit.
Kew for You are willing to publish some of your offerings. Plus if we get enough interest we may even hold a super special performance/slam/recital at the Kew Court House in the near future.
So what do you say? Tell you friends, kids and neighbours and lets create something community cool for Kew!
In the meantime, check out this poem by Kew East local resident, mum, jewellery maker and wordsmith

This is a recent example of our recent Bymepoetry Challenge by ‘@writeremilygrace’ from USA that required using the start of the sentence ‘In October I….’

So here’s a challenge you can use to flex that creative muscle of yours!
