Percy’s Aeroplane, Kew
Guest blog by The Breakfast Snobs
If you love good food and coffee, then grab your passport and jump on board Percy’s Aeroplane. Wesley Lim and Michael Smith are the masterminds behind this cute, Kew café and for over 5 years, have been serving Kew locals with delicious and honest food using the freshest of ingredients.
What we ate
With so many delicious options on the menu, it was difficult to choose. So we ordered one dish each, and a dessert to share.
- Mr Percy — with bacon, potato hash, smashed avocado and a poached egg.
- Grilled Asparagus — with smashed avocado, beetroot pure and a poached egg.
- Matcha Hotcakes — Green tea hotcakes sandwiched in a doughnut, drizzled with chocolate ganache and a dollop of whipped cream.
What we drank
- Long black and a strong latte made using their unique home blended coffee roast
What we will try next time
We are keen to return to try one of everything from the dessert cabinet!
The staff were welcoming with big smiles and a great sense of humour. When faced by the dilemma that every foodie faces when they read a menu that leaves you salivating, the staff were extremely helpful in providing their recommendations.
The décor is fitting with a model aeroplane suspended from the ceiling, exposed brick peeping through plasterboard and brightly, sun-filled room.
