As we enter Q2, all the novelty of the new year has worn off. If you( like me) have found it a bit difficult to finally turn those dreams into actions, here are some tips to feel prepared and ready to conquer this year.

Research

For me, this is the fun part. I suggest giving yourself a set timeline for completing your research. This way you won’t fall into an endless loop of discovering a new aspect of the job, and feeling like you must research more in order to be prepared. Figure out the steps you need to form a solid foundation for your endeavor, and keep it moving.

Plan

Take all of that beautiful research and create an actionable plan. This plan should include the most immediate steps you need to start. Don’t try to plan too far into the future, because as you discover and embrace this new part of your journey you want to be flexible enough to accept changes to the plan.

You may not have the perfect plan. There is no way for you to research every aspect of what you want to do, but what you can do is start. As you start trying different methods, having failures and successes, you will begin to create the path that best works for you. I know that if you begin, you will be wiser than if you do nothing at all. Put one foot in front of the other and go.
