Assessment-02B- Model Scale
The technique that I used in my work is Josef Albers's style. Josef Albers is an artist which could worked on many different sources such as wall features, sculptures, furniture and etc. The technique he used mainly is ‘A sequence of colours and shapes in the space’. Josef Albers likes showing spatial sense of hierarchy by using different colours or using the positive and negative spaces. As figure 1.1 shows Albers explored a style of painting characterized by the reiteration of abstract rectilinear patterns and the use of primary colours along with white and black. He also used paper sculpture which is showing in figure 1.2,and that should help him to teach the principle of design and to illustrates his idea clearly.

The image below is the building I am imitated which is UTS Tower (Figure 2).

In addition, the next image is showing my processing. The Figure 3.1 is showing the first idea of the folding. As my opinion, I just wanna show UTS tower by a simple way. Therefore, I trying to made some little crossbands to show the shape of UTS Tower just like what Albers did. As it can be seen, figure 3.2- 3.5 are just the improvement which are adding shapes, change colour and showing colour in same shape. Finally, the final work is showing in figure 4. After doing this assignment, I understand a way of showing spatial sence of hierarchy is architecture base on colours, positive and negative spaces.
