Am I Just an Ugly Man Hater?
I don’t think you’re ugly at all. Your hairstyle looks cute on you.
But, to be more serious:
We teach men they should go to war, sacrifice themselves for the “greater good,” and that they should suck up pain without compliant. But the end result of that is men die younger. They die of things they shouldn’t die of, and people don’t care as much as they should.
Here is one of my common “beefs” with the results of feminism-in-practice.
We are overwhelmed with appeals to be aware of breast cancer. We have big strong manly NFL men wearing pink at least one week a year. We have big foundations that focus on awareness and screening. The NIH invests 700M a year in breast cancer research.
That’s all good. However, the lifetime risk of you or I getting breast cancer is 12% only.
Men, OTOH, and prostate cancer. There’s prostate screening, but no big movement out there to make them aware and get them screened.
By age 80, 80% of all men have the disease. Oh — — and if they actually do get screened, are found to have it, and have the cancer removed? They are sentenced to the rest of their life in a diaper (a bit of an exaggeration, but they will always be less in control of their urine than they were pre-surgery) and ….well, let’s just say after surgery they will never be as good as a bedtime playmate they used to be (blushes).
Yet, nary a squeak about prostate screening. But breast cancer, breast cancer, BREAST CANCER!!!!!!! 700M annually by the NIH? Prostate cancer? 300M.
If we love them, shouldn’t we try to take care of them better?
