Having worked in tech venture startups, I think it must also be mentioned bluntly (you allude to this in your article) that many tech visionaries and entrepreneurs have brilliant minds but couldn’t lead a horse to water. Those fabulous ideas stay stuck in their heads, and it takes a skilled leader to extract them and turn them into action.

I suppose the same is true out of tech as well, but tech is where the venture capital is these days. Many tech startups, even some well funded ones in the right niche at the right time, have died on the vine because the founder couldn’t turn the reins over to a leader/businessman.
