However, this came the same day as reports that Trump suggested the antisemitic desecrations could be a false flag, done by Jews to elicit sympathy.
But it’s a risky thing to brag about. Presidents can’t control the underlying fundamentals, and the stock market will almost certainly go down at some point during Trump’s tenure.
All true. However, the runup since the election has been despite the fundamentals saying that the market is overbought. It cannot be repeated often enough that in that scenario, every share of stock that is bought is essentially a vote of confidence in the US by the market participants. These participants viewed Obama as the most business-hostile president in memory, and they are not impressed by job growth that appears to be primaryly driven by low-paying service sector jobs.
Meanwhile, some conservatives will object to new spending, while many Democrats will argue the “private capital” part is just a giveaway to well-connected businesses.
Hopefully, neither ideology will triumph over much-needed investments.
We should judge regulations with a cost-benefit analysis, not an arbitrary number. If they’re burdensome, they should go; if they save money and provide benefits, they should stay.
Applauds. The problem is ideologues on each side, one which never saw a regulation they liked, the other never saw one they didn’t love.
It’s hard to find a rationale for VOICE besides xenophobia.
Slow down a bit here. Part of the reason Trump exists is because the people have lost faith in the Administration to tell them the truth when it comes to immigration. They feel they’ve been bullshitted by both the Republicans and Democrats, who both want to look the other way when it comes to illegal immigration for different reasons.
VOICE means that for the first time, the government itself will be collecting data on illegal immigrant crime. And if that data tells you that VOICE is not necessary, that takes an emotionally charged topic off the table.
“We cannot allow a beachhead of terrorism to form inside America.”
Careful before you dismiss this out of hand. This was reported over the weekend, and I can tell you from months of living there over the last decade (my sister lives in Gotenburg, and my brother owns property outside of Stockholm) that a) Sweden has a big problem on their hands, b) created by their overly permissive refugee policies, that c) the Swedish government is engaged in active propaganda to deny is occurring.
(I dislike having to post a link to a conservative news site, but the report being cited by the article is in Swedish (my Swedish nephew assures me it is not being misreported) and oddly (/sarc) the mainstream media in the US aren’t picking it up. (Note to MSM: Failure to report information which bolsters conservative concerns plays into Trump’s media assault. You might consider not fanning the flames of the fire he set.))
