Balanced budget ‘like shooting the economy in the head’ — experts
Claire Connelly

Whenever the “debt doesn’t matter” argument is advanced, regardless of whether it’s by a “progressive” or Dick Cheney, the obvious question that is therefore begged is “Well, OK, if it doesn’t matter, then why don’t we just print up a million dollars for every citizen and solve all the health care, hunger, and poverty problems we have in American once and for all?”

The response from the “debt doesn’t matter” people, to that suggestion is always the same. Crickets.

Why? Because there IS a problem with high levels of debt……and if there’s problems with high levels of debt, then there’s problems with smaller levels as well.

And they know it.
