Thank you Scott for your feedback! I really appreciate it!
I agree with most of your points, especially no. 4. I wanted it to sort of blend in with the website and bring attention to the hero text. However, I overlooked that I should’ve brought the focus to the button. In hindsight, I would’ve made it more prominent. Red seems like a good choice.
However, I disagree with point no. 1. I feel that the advantages of out-linking outweighs its disadvantages. Yes, I know that the chances of users getting distracted by other work is high. But, I think that Behance is the best platform to showcase short and visual-based work. Medium also offers publishing tools that I simply cannot replicate on my website. Plus, Behance and Medium both offer great chances of getting discovered by other users.
Other things that I would consider changing is the implementation of a contact form. I don’t know about other people, but I think that a contact form would slow down the website. That said, I agree that a contact form would increase the chances of receiving an email.
All in all, I can say that this new design is still in beta. A lot can and should be improved and changed.
Once again, I’m really thankful that you spent so much time and thought into writing such a detailed response. Feedback and criticisms and the most effective ways to improve.
